Well, as a Democrat, I've generally found McCain's positions on many issues to be the most palatable to me. I also have a great respect for his character. That being said, I do disagree with many of his stances on issues. So, I guess I wouldn't pick him, because I think he would have a good chance of winning, particularly against someone like Hillary. And I want a Democrat in office. So I guess I'd have to say...ummm...Alan Keyes?

Trick question. Obviously we would want the worst possible candidate so that our candidate can win. Putting that aside, I would pick John McCain because at least I am interested in hearing what he has to say during the debates and the campaign.
He is the only Republican I respect, though I do not understand the company he keeps.
