He didn't. 4.6 billion years ago, a supernova shockwave caused billions of interstellar particles to collide together. Small particles collided with small particles which collided with bigger particles and so on. Erego, Earth formed. Done.

It appears that the fact of of physical time had to be established so that an order of life could exist which then had the ability to forever perish as it has been = mankind. Jesus, in order to die, had to inhabit a body that was capable of being destroyed. It states in the book of St. John that He was already preexistent, but came to earth to die for the sins of mankind. As angelic beings cannot die, because they are spirits only, their Creator could not die either. Having occupied a physical body that is always temporal, this was made possible. By achieving this act, God has established a family to Himself that otherwise would have been impossible.
"Being born again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the Word of God."

God created the earth so that perfect, happy, healthy humans could inhabit, cultivate, and enjoy it forever. Then came the bad angel posing as a serpent... and well, you know the rest!

to question the infinite knowledge of an infinite being would only lead to more questions, no answers, and insainity.
However, if god was in a human mind set.
then the question would be, why wouldn't he
being an imortal being with a perfect kingdom (heaven) full of perfect beings would be dreadfully boring
think of earth like one big soap opra or prehaps some other form of entertainment (think videogame like Age of Empires)
however since god is not human and iv never had a conversation with him/her/it i am not be able to answer
and now that i think of it, i don't even know what kind of extra emotions of thought patterns an infinite being would have!
aaah, insainity is setting in! must...resist...urge to live in mountains talking to myself....

There's no such thing as god -- mythical magical made-up superbeings can't create anything. All they can do is get used as a symbol by religious leaders to keep their followers in ignorance and get them to give away their money.
Learn some science, which deals with facts instead of superstitions...it'll open your mind. :)
