ok so i have some elmers glue in my upstairs bedroom and im sure you relize this means that the floor under is wood and water ruins wood how do i get the glue up with out damageing anything.

Use some stuff called, "Goo be gone." It works on most anything.

Do you have a "Wet-Dry" shop vacuum or can you borrow one.

If you have access to one,
Take a sponge with hot water on it, leave it on the glue (not Rubbing, just lay it on top) for 5 minutes.
Pour warm water on the softened glue while vacuuming at the same time. this should get the glue off if you keep doing it for a few minutes.

Do NOT use a regular vacuum or you will ruin it with water.

be cautious of what you use, it could discolor your carpet, the best thing i have found to get things out of carpet is WD40 believe it or not. we used to get blacktop sealer out of carpet with it.
