Lots of people have been programmed by the right-wing shrieking heads to blame all of their personal problems on imaginary people who live in their heads. They call those people "liberals". Those imaginary "liberals" bear little to no resemblance to real-life liberals.

Liberals...hard to explain anything about people who usually think they are smarter or somehow more special than your average everyday American...only they can see the truth and only ignorant people are conservative...they like to set up programs to (take care of the people who cant help themselves) more like take control of the money cause were too ignorant to decide how to spend it....they sit inside their comfortable little lifestyles and view the world from a stoop high above the little man deciding whats best for him when the little man didn't ask for help....the common working man is the backbone of this great country...and he does not need some over educated liberal to look out for him and decide what is right for him....i don't need a college education to have common sense....the liberals try to force their views upon us so we can be equal to each other and second only to their great intellect....this is why i don't like liberals

In Australia they are disliked by most except for the upper class who reap all the benefits while the rest of the population pay high taxes and become the working poor.

I assume it is because the liberals have not been in power for so many years that they are not taken seriously. How ironic! If it wasn't for the liberals we probably would not have a welfare state.

I'm neither, but what I have observed is the more educated people are the more conservative they are. The lesser educated are liberal. But then you have the category of rich uneducated people that can go either way, I mean lottery winners, actors, etc.

If their Daddy would't cut off their trust fund and force them to work for a living all people around here would be liberals.

Because most people don't behave in the way that Liberals want them to behave. Moreover, Liberals, by definition, don't have the wherewithal to make them. They are pleasant harmless dreamers. You can't dislike them, but you can despair of their naivety regarding the policies they would choose to run the country with.

I don't think most people are against them; most people try to ignore them rather as you would someone pulling a face from the top deck of a bus!

There's nothing wrong with liberalism. It's got a lot of things i agree with, especially concerning civil rights. But from what I've seen, a lot of liberals basically label anyone who disagrees with them as "ignorant" "war monger" "blind" and make arrogant statements like "reality has a liberal slant." Right wingers got their own problems, but I'm not a right winger.

Because they are the friend of criminals and terrorists. Given enough rope they will hang us all. They have so much opportunity to gain on Labour and Tory, but they keep messing it up with their 'play nice' rhetoric.

I do not believe that they are "against" liberals. Instead they are venting their frustrations with the liberal point of view.
