In battlestar galactica, whats the picture in the pilots briefing room that they touch as they come and go?

It is the picture of a man kneeling before the devestation of the Cylon attack. The Glactica pilots touch this every time they leave the briefing room.

It's a picture of a colonial officer in Caprica City, supposedly, seeing one of the first Cylon bombs destroy everything. This is all part of a deleted scene in the first season (on the DVD) where Roslin gets a copy of it. It was apparently paying homage to the 9/11 picture of the guys raising the flag; it says something like 'never forget', that's why they touch it.
