Garamond 12 pt is not that much different than Times New Roman which is the standard. The type in Garamond is a little lighter and closer together but not to the untrained eye. If it is easy to read then most teachers will accept it. So go and knock your teachers socks off with a splendid essay neatly typed. :-)

Times New Roman 12 point is the standard for educators because it is easy to read. If your prof doesn't specify, I like Arial 11 point and Courier New 11 or 12 point as these are also easy on the eye.

It seems okay but I would reccomend Arial 12pt font instead because it looks more professional.

Just to be safe I would always stick with Times New Roman 12 pt.

it seems to be just a small bit larger than times so i wouldn't use it b/c your teacher might think you're just using a larger font to use up more space. you could try arial though, it's also accepted.
