Yahoo states that there are about 60 acutal cards, but those numbers are inflated because at least a third are counterfeit. These fakes are really hard to find because they have been authenticated by sources that don't know what they are doing. The numbers should be like this. Actual authentic Honus cards...40...counterfeit Honus cards authenticated...20..

The article on Yahoo! says that there are about 60 of the 1909 card. I'm sure there are other issues of Honus Wagner though. I'm also sure that fakes are being made. Those selling at auction for over a million dollars will have been authenticated though.

I think most people are referring to the T206 Wagners. In addition, there are plenty of other Wagner cards made by The Sporting News, American Caramel, etc. I have a W600 1902 Wagner that's been graded 'Authentic' and pre-dates the T206 by seven years. However, his true rookie is considered to be a 1899 Sporting News supplement.

I'm sure there are fakes out there, but I don't know for certain. I heard there were 60 Honus Wagner cards made.

if you go on eBay and type in honus wagner you get like 1000 fake cards popping up.

last known verified number is 48. But out of that verified number some might have been cracked open and sent into grading more than once. What you could say is at least thirty but less than 50

not to many was made with the Cigar company label that put them out only about 12 are known to exsist could even be less because back 1908 collecting cards wasn't as popular as it is today...

Yeah, I have 3 of them, why? I also own the holy grail. the ark of the covenant, 8 crystal monkey skulls, a piece of Noah's ark, the shroud of torin, and every John Denver album.
