Caution: Do not do the following if you do not have all of your programs available that you use on your system, including the OS CD.
If you are trying to wipe it completely clean, format it. However, be aware that this will wipe out your OS also, and your computer will be useless, until you install a new OS. It will wipe out all of your programs, virus, office, etc. Anything you have or use on your system will be completely gone. Click on Start; Click on Run, type in CMD, then type format c. There are different ways to do it, but that may be the easiest.
If you are trying to clean your hard disk of unused files and clutter, just do a hard disk clean. Click on start>> Prgrams>> Accesories>> System Tools>> Click on Disk Cleanup. It will calculate how much space you will have after and it may take a few minutes.

If you are keeping your hard drive you can just reformat it and when you reinstall the operating system and your programs they will write over your old data.
If you want to get rid of all the data on your hard drive type "wipe hard drive" into a search engine and find a program that will write over the whole drive to get rid of any data on it.

My question is, do you want to wipe out everyhing? If so, get your operating system disks out and boot from the DVD/CD drive. When it comes to the partition information, dtop the primary partition. Once you have deleted this partition and returned to the install screen, re-create the primary partition. After that, format this partition with Quick Format.
Now, continue to reinstall the operating system.

I think the only way to do it is very painstakingly slow, by clearing every single file individually. That's the only way to ever do it. That, or you could just throw it into the lake of burning fire.
