without cheats or abusing glitches the highest i ever got was on Tony Hawks American Wasteland for PS2 was around 3 million, which is pretty good, but there are people who can get way higher.
On the online leaderboard somebody had something in the 100 millions...ya pretty crazy.

513 million without cheating, just find a circular area to grind on, and keep your balence, also do switches to boost the multiplier, then all you've got to do is land it.

Yeah, in the GBA version, you can get a perfect balance cheat, and there's this circular rail you can ride. You can go until it doesn't give you points anymore =]
Without cheats.. I dunno, my highest score was in THPS2...
