Good question, one that could be debated upon for a long time coming.

My first choices for change.

1. As a few have mentioned, a limited number of foreigners on the pitch at one time.

2. Only the captain can complain or converse with the Referee regarding decisions.

3. Diving to be more heavily penalised, both the player and the club. The latter might persuade managers to break and not make the habit.

Instead of penalties that decides an important match, remove the goalie from each team and allow a maximum of 2 outfield players to stand on the goal line. Penalties are just a lottery and have nothing to do with skill.

i agree with rich t, minimum amount of homegrown players in a squad. With some clubs our lads don't get a look in which is hurting the English team. If our lads have more league football games we'd have higher fitness levels, a greater squad to choose from and plenty of coverage for injuries in the england squad.

2 suggestions:

1 - Yellow card - sin bin

2 - An independant citing official to look at foul play during the match. This official is then able to punish players / teams after the match for things that weren't spotted by the referee.

No yellow card for taking off the shirt when a player scores a goal...He should celebrate it as he liked...And I agree with the rule of at least 5 national players in one team

Off side: I would just call it in the penalty box. (easier to see and call) and will make the field "bigger" for attack plays and players.

All foul kicks should be free kicks.

Diving in the area: Red card and a penalty kick for the other team. (That should do away with that cheating manoeuvre!).

Side throws, could be done by hand or by the foot (it is foot ball wright?)

Good question.

I'd not add or change any, but I'd enforce the obstruction rule which never gets called anymore

no alcoholic sponsor...
in motorsport, they has banned all of the cigar sponsor,
then in football, they should follow them

referee have more power...
also give a microphone for ref while they are
on the match so the others can hear what he or
the players saying
