Do you use some of the cute words they use and in essence talk like them? I just answered a Q using "shoesies" for shoes. I am pathetic!

I used to do it a LOT, when my kid was young, but tho' he's now 16, we still have expressions in the family we use now, made up by him as a little kid...so don't feel bad! Just mix it up with some "grown-up" talk (make 'em watch "Washington Journal" every morning!). Well, I've gotta go make my kid's "lunchie", feed the Kiki and Puppy-pie, then do some "waundry"...:P

Yeah, last weekend I went fishing with a couple of buddies. I stood up and said "man I gotta go potty really bad". They looked at me like I was some kind of tard or something. I didn't know what to say so I just started cracking up laughing. I was laughing so hard I said "dude, I'm gonna pee pee my pants". Wow! lol!

Oh yeah. I'm a Kindergarten teacher and I crave adult conversations. I end up using not quite baby talk but close to it with the kiddos. Like, do you have a boo boo or owie?
I also find that my adult vocabulary doesn't get enough use and I start to lose it.

Yes, that's real. It's estimated that a stay-at home mother can lose up to 10 IQ points if she doesn't maintain regular adult interaction. Make sure you have somebody you can have a conversation with, until the kids catch up!

Your not pathetic, your normal and it shows your a kid at heart as well. I do this all the time with my kids, tho in time i try to change it over to the correct way to say things. I think its great, why do we have to be so critical to little ones? continue with what your doing and enjoy the youth that's in front of you!!

Or I start talking like an idiot. I say things like, "look at those cute little toesy woesies." Or, "you are the cutest little baby wabby I've ever seen." It's sort of like my brain gets a shortcut for a while.

Happens all the time...but you know you really need a break when you are holding a jug of milk and a bag of potatoes in line at the market and you catch yourself bouncing them on your hip like a baby...I've done that!
