At 10 weeks, I had an empty fetal sac, no baby. I had a D & C yesterday. I'm really concerned that I won't be able to have any more children since I had this procedure. Has anyone ever become pregnant after having a D & C and if so, how long did it take to become pregnant? I'm really worried, I'm 38 and I don't have much time left on my biological clock. We only have one child currently.

I had a blighted ovum also and opted for a d&c also instead of waiting for it to miscarry. I was worried about teh same thing..my Dr told me not to worry that having a d&c was beneficial as it cleans out the uterus of all teh old stuff, and makes it a nice clean host for another pregnancy. This was in Sept...my Dr told me that I would be pregnant by Christmas and I was...I now have a healthy 2-1/2 yr old. I was 35 at teh time.

We are in the exact same boat. I also had a DC at 8 weeks due to an empty sac. First of all this is called a blited ovum and is very common. This does not hinder your chances nor does having a DC. This is just normally a one time occurance and most go on to have normal pregnancies. Many people become pregnant after a DC. Don't worry. You need to give your body some time to heal and then try again. I had my DC Oct and we are trying again now for the first time. I am 39 and have one child too. Good Luck!!!!

I went throught the exact same thing, though I was about 21 when it happened. Empty Fetal Sac, no baby, D & C. And I got pregnant 2 weeks later! The doctor was not happy that it happened so soon, but my pregnancy had NO complications and my daughter Austin came out happy and healthy. Now she is a pain in the butt 15 year old!! good luck and dont worry!!!

This procedure is sometimes done to help women conceive. I am sorry for your loss. I had one for the same reason at 8 weeks with my first pregnancy. It took me 9 months to conceive after that, but I had a problem with ovulation and also had a mild case of endometriosis. I had a full term healthy baby girl. It took me 8 months to conceive our 2nd child. No reason why, I guess just timing. I am currently 38. My daughter is only 20 months and I am currently 12 weeks pregnant. I know how you feel about your clock ticking. Don't stress over it. I believe stress can interfere with conceiving. As hard as it is to have a miscarriage, they are very common, especially in first pregnancies. The good thing is that you know you can get pregnant. Best wishes for quick conception and a healthy pregnancy and baby. Also, my OB advised me not to ttc until after one cycle after my D&C.

I have been given pregnant and had a miscarriage beginning up could twenty 6th of 2004 i found out i became into pregnant returned on July twenty third of 2004, I in no way had a d&c, I have been given pregnant on June 6th 2004, the medical doctors could no longer even decide how i've got been given pregnant that rapid. I had a appealing, healthful lady descendant on march third of 2005. So from my experience i've got self assurance this is completely secure so you might get pregnant precise now and not have any problems.

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and had a D&C in september, and I had one regular period in October by November I was pregnat it was a complete shock to me because we had been using condoms and now I am 17 weeks along so yes you can still have children after having a D&C, if there is no medical history that can cause you not to have them.

Of course you can become pregnant again, but if you don't, it isn't because of the D & C. What is rather amazing to me, no offense meant, is why you would not have asked your doctor, or at the very least another medical professional this question, but instead, relied upon the information here. Wouldn't asking your doctor seem the logical choice?
