I would go for B and D, as they are the most sudden to happen. Volcanic erruptions: people usually have time to evacuate so they are not isolated. Tree: can block a road and then you're isolated from coming and going. The widening of a lake: depends on the lake, maybe a flash flood, but not likely. And last forest fire: can start and spread very quickly, isolating populations (especially "isolated", suburban o rural populations), can block roads as well.

When you say :biology", I assume you are referring to living organisms. All of the above would cause harm to such beings but geographic isolation,as in say destruction or death of such organisms,I would think A and D would have the most disastrous affect.

d. definitely a forest fire because it would be more widespread and it usually is in a place of populated areas and roads which would be cut off due to fire obstruction.

D, because it causes the most widespread destruction and disruption to a well-populated habitat
