Yes because JK Rowling has specifically mentioned that Dumbledore is dead and won't be coming back in an interview. You can go to the site Mugglenet and read about it. Before reading it even I thought that maybe Dumbledore was not dead but he really is.

Yes, He is gone. J.K. Rowling has even confirmed it. Harry may still be able to talk to him though because if you recall at the end of Half Blood Prince Harry saw Dumbledore's portrait hanging in the headmasters office. He was slumbering.
Just have to wait until July to find out for sure.

Even if Dumbledore does not pull a Gandalf, remember that the other dead headmasters talked to Dumbledore out of their portraits.

This contains spoilers
Ms. Rowling Did kill Dumbledore in the end of teh 6th book but I cant help but think that he will be back.
The person that killed him was Snape with the killing curse. I dont remember how to spell the words but I was so sad when it happened.
The task was origanally given to Draco Malfoy but he could not complete it. The reason it was given to him is becaus Voldermort was angry with his father.
At the end of this book, harry leaves hogworts to fight voldermort.
I cant wait to see what happens in the last book.

Sadly he is. I didn't wan to believe it but the facts are there. The painting of him that appeared in the headmaster's room, the spell breaking when he got killed, and though I wish that there was some unforseen loop hole in which he can come back there isn't. I guess it will just add more motivation to Harry's quest.

well, having read the interview (the only I can find) I don't see as how she confirmed his death so much as she led us to believe she was confirming his death. I believe what she said was somethiong to the effect of "you oughtn't expect him to pull a Gandalf" which is mnore reappearing and saving the day than it is not being dead. personally, if he is truly dead, than she is slipping as an author as there are so many clues suggesting the opposite.

Dead, dead, dead, dead, DEAD. J.K. Rowling said he was dead, definitely dead, and there's no way he's going to "pull a Gandalf". I did not make that up. She used that phrase herself.
