depends on school. the degree of the offense.
I got busted off campus, but the school was notified. I had to go to court, pay court fees, plead guilty, on probation for a yr(didn't need to see a probationary officer), and it was wiped off my record
i had the pay the school $100, did 15 hours community service through the school, which they got in trouble w/ the prosecutors office, go to the school counselor a couple times.write a paper about alcohol, they use to make students hold their own alcohol awareness meeting where there had to be atleast10 students there. when completed, i got $50 back. technically it should've been consider double jeopardy for having to pay the school.

During parents' weekend at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (CA), we were told that there was zero tolerance for students living in the dorms and that anyone caught would be kicked out of the dorm with NO reimbursement for the cost of the dorm, etc. While the students were not told to turn in roommates drinking in the dorm, they were told to get away from the situation so that they would not be kicked out, too,

they are put on residential or some sort of probation for the remainder of the semester.
i was caught with empty absolut vodka bottles (gift from my ma cuz i collect) when i was 19 and they took them and made me take an alcohol prevention something blah blah class. well, i didnt. and now that i dont go to that school, they wont send me a copy of my transcript unless i pay them $25.
dont get caught.
we were also caught smoking in dorms. again probation and we had to film a PSA discouraging kids from smoking the ganj.

Depends on where your at. At my college the campus police act like they own everything, so if you get caught with them, they take it to the extreme (you have to pay fines, go infront of some board, etc.) If you get caught by city police then it might be a fee and a court date.

If you pay full price to attend the school than nothing. If you're on financial aid, a stern lecture, maybe some alcohol classes, but basically nothing.

it can range from fines, to community service, to expulsion. it depends on the situation. if you are underaged and driving drunk, in NJ you lose your lisence and will most likley be expelled from the school.
you need to consult the schools handbook - the punishment will be outlined there

I guess it depends on where you were drinking and how much you were drinking. I wouldn't know as I live in Canada but it would be interesting to know.

Depends on the school. If you are at community college, nothing. If you are at an ivy leage, Expulsion. Why do you want to be one of those losers that drink at college and ruin their future anyway?

At my school, they would give out citations for drinking violations. I believe they are put in the records sent to grad schools. (Or that's what they told us).

It depends on the campus. If it is a 'dry' campus you can pretty much count on being expelled.
