I think that perhaps there is more underlying tension between india and pakistan in the greater (political) context than there is between Australia and England. Perhaps Ind/Pak bring those rivalries into cricket moreso than Eng/Aus, however, I think that the battle over the ashes is a fair testament to the anglo/aussi rivalry!

no.I dont agree that Pak/India rivalry is more intense than the England -Australia one because Pak/Ind rivalry has happened for 20 years but the England -Australia one has for more than 50 years and it is always awaited by everyone

pak/India definetely. Cricket is THE sport in that subcontinent. Whereas in England, soccer is the one. Also, Bangladesh is also starting to get in that mix. For example, when Bangladesh beat Pakistan, everybody were celebrating with colors being thrown around and flowers. But it was just a normal game, we didn't win any championships, but it meant more. Samething happened when Bangladesh beat India.

No.
England - Australia rivalry is more intense, coming down from history (its rivalry spanning many decades)
Pak-India rivalry is created by the respective media of the countries.

well pak vs india rivalry is fuelled by religion and a war (kashmir) whereas aus vs eng is really just a friendly sporting rivalry, so i would say ind vs pak is more intense.

I agree, I think it's because of the political history between these two countries. But of course in both Cricket and Politics India always comes out on top.

Pak/India has a lot in it political, boundary, religous and economic factors in it too but l think it more intense coz they have more passion for cricket. Eng/Austr thing is all about who is on top at the moment.

I would have agreed with you in 1980s-90s, but not now.

Somehow ind vs. pak matches are becoming overly sophisticated !! This is something dangerous for the cricket itself....
Except Dada & Shewag, nobody has that killer instict. In pak team only Afridi & Shoiab (i might have mispelled his name) have that... so .. no good.. they are same !! sorry..
Cheers

Definitely. The sport is almost a religion. The games are always tight and the passion is astounding. I love watching the matches, just for the sheer atmosphere. I think if I went to a game, the noise would melt my brain. Shabash!
