Betta Fish Hanging fin?

Hi,
Today I notice my betta fish has a hanging piece of fin (that is what it looks like) It is a stringy piece hanging with a clump on the end. I looked up on google and don't see anything quite the same. I do notice some white under her head area.

He may have fin rot, which is a common fish ailment. You can buy an antibacterial medicine to take care of it. The fish section in your local pet store should have fish meds that kill bacteria, and there is one I know of called BettaFix that's made especially for bettas. That's a liquid, but they sell little fizzing discs that do the trick as well. Just be sure to put it only the amount needed (typically one disc is way too much for a betta bowl), and if there are other fish in the tank, the betta should be put in it's own bowl for treatment.

That could be any one of several things including a damaged fin or fin rot or even a fungus. I would recommend that you treat with a treatment with Malachite Green in it as that will cure or prevent fungus, which is the mostly likely problem.
