I definitely wouldn't take that chance. If you want to take birth-control pills, toss them and get a new prescription. They have reformulated birth control to have lower hormone levels. It probably wouldn't hurt to see your doctor for a check-up anyway (especially if you are taking birth-control).

There is an expiration date for a reason.. so I think it is time to call the doctor and get some new pills.

Not a good idea the expiration date is on there for a reason!! They might not be protecting you at all because they are so old!! Get some new ones :)

I don't know, but I think that if you have expired meds that the doctor will give you replacements for free. I would just go to the doctor and get new ones... taking expired medication isn't safe, and probably isn't effective either.

absolutely not! They put expiration dates on medications to tell you when the effectiveness is over.. Unless you want a baby, then you better be talking to your doctor!

when people make pills they make them to last for a good 5 to 8 years. Im pretty sure that they would work, but thats like eating sour cream from your fridge thats 3 weeks past the expiry date. just take your pills to a pharmacist and get them exchanged.

Medicine tends to lose it's effectiveness after a certain length of time, which is why they put expiration dates on them. It won't hurt you to take them, but they won't be nearly as effective.

chances are that they will work but the FDA has done extensive studies that say that you should discard the medicine, because it too can become out dated. females bodies are sensitive. please don't gamble like this. birthcontrol is already a hazardous thing. and if all else fails consult a doctor
