Definately call a doctor. Only they can tell you exactly what it is. Bleeding can be a sign of miscarriage, but only having blood while wiping can be hemmroids or some other problem, that still needs to be checked. She should call a Dr immediately!

I would recommend for her to see the doctor' just to be on the safe side. I spotted for the first 3 months of my pregnancy and then stopped. I believe some people do spot a little longer. By spotting I mean a pinkish, blood tinged discharge. And actual blood is a reason for alarm.

I had the same thing happened. I went to the ER frantic! They hooked me up, checked the baby and sent me home. It was probably just a little bit of "thinning" in there they said. But it could be that the placenta is breaking away from the wall of the uterus...or something else...but that's what they thought it might be for me. In the end, she NEEDS to go to the hospital. It's probably nothing, but if the placenta is coming unnattached, they need to get it immediatly!!

Is it brown or red? If it's brown it's probebly old blood. You should take her to the doctor though to get checked up! Some women have to go on bed rest even at 20 weeks. I wish the best for her!!!

Spotting isn't usually anything to freak out over. Heck, some women have their periods throughout their entire pregnancy. Your best best is to contact the doctor/nurse/midwife and explain to them what is going on. Sometimes they'll just tell you to stay in bed for a while, other times they'll want to see you. So call them, and good luck!

Perhaps she should ask at her next antenatal appointment, but it's probably normal. If she is still sexually active, that might be the reason for the blood- the hormones make that area more sensitive and so more susceptible to bleeding.

No I don't think she is losing the baby, my cousin who is about the same was spotting also. She went to the ER but it was fine. I would suggest she go to the doctor for a checkup and hope she is going regularly for her checkups. Don't let her stress or she can lose the baby.

Please have her go to the doctor, hun. It IS possible for a women to bleed during pregnancy, but she really needs to have this checked out as soon as possible. Any bleeding during pregnancy should be checked out. She could be just fine, and be in that small percent of women who bleed, or she could be at risk for miscarriage. Please please have her see the doctor.

I sincerely hope nothing is wrong, and I wish her all the best.

Bleeding is bad at any time, it's probably something minor, but you have to tell her to call her midwife.

Do it now.

I hope everything is fine for you all. Try not to worry, but get proper medical advice fast.
