Sounds like you're hurting or frustrated, or both. I'm sorry you're having a hard time. Men can be completely frustrating at times and most women wonder (more than once in their lives) why we do go to all that trouble for them!
As for why... some of it is nature, and some cultural/societal. But mostly, I think it is because the majority of people were not meant to be alone. We need companions in our pilgrimage on earth.
AND... when it is worth it... boy is it worth it!!!

If you don't bother to make the effort, then some other woman living in asia or eastern europe will.
There are plenty of fish in the sea. And many men know where to look for them too.
But I can see where you are coming from. If you are well educated, have a good career, and you have enough money to take care of everything, then what do you need marriage for? Casual friendship and occasional sex is good enough for a woman in your situation.
The only women who have use for a good man are those who stand to benefit a lot from the guy's loving help.

Women are just as bad as men if you think it takes effort to be with a man it takes more to be with a woman who thinks it is such an effort to be with him this is what we are showing our sons that they are worthless and that they should be so lucky to find a woman to put up with them because they know nothing about life or feelings and they will always be wrong

I somtimes think women make all the effort, only to be dumped then in the end when the guy who isn't all that loses interest and wants to move on. It's crazy!

I think we make an effort because we all want to eventually find that relationship that makes us feel like we are living in a fairytale and that nothing can harm us... we believe that true love is out there and we just hold on to hope that we can eventually stumble upon it ourselves and live happily ever after!

Cause sometimes the right man is worth the time it takes to mold him to what you want. My wife took 30 years that's what you call making an effort.

because we are worth it well some of us are my wife of 23 years always makes an effort and so do I
