They start on April 21st with usually 3 or four of the series starting that Saturday and 4 starting on Sunday, in recent years the NBA has staggered the start of one of the series' to the Monday after the play-offs start so that there is at least one play-off game on TV every night of the week. Depending on who you are following the first play-off game will either be April 21st, 22nd, or 23rd.
