a pond is considered...about 2 to 3 acres...a lake, 6 or more... im from the country, helped build a lake before, but go ahead and do what you want, depth is a key also...and what you want to put in the lake, what kind of fish.

A lake can be any size you want. I made one about 5 years ago which is 0.5 acres and in the next year or two we'll be making another which will be about 2 acres.

The definition of a lake is a body of water entirely surrounded by land - there's no minimum or maximum size.
