Though there are species of animals which are called "dragons" like the Komodo dragon and several sea-horse species (sea dragons), the giant "dragons" in fantasy movies and books are just that: fantasy. They only exist in stories and imagination.

One of the reasons that people invented the idea of dragons thousands of years ago was that they often found the fossilized bones of dinosaurs -- China, in particular, has many exposed deposits around the Gobi Desert with preserved skeletons of giant beasts like Tyrannosaurs, Plesiosaurs and giant crocodiles. It was easy for people to imagine that these were the remains of fantastic flying creatures which still existed somewhere.

No Ofcourse not. They don't exist for sure. They are just made up. They can be found only in ancient stories, books and films. There was a programme in Discovery channel some months ago. In it they said that dragons don't exist. There is no proof that they had been living either. It was not possible for such a creature like dragon to exist . So no they are not true.

Dragons are a mythological animal developed by people in response to their awareness of unexplainable animals from the past. When early people discovered gigantic dinosaur bones, they realized that there were giant animals that had lived in the past but which they did not see in the present. They gave them the name dragons, and made assumptions as to how animals with such bones must have looked and behaved. Therefore, yes dragron did exist, but the modern scientific word is dinosaur and the looks and behaviors of dragons as speculated by ancient mankind do not mirror well those attributed to dinosaurs by modern scientists.

...if they were sentences, then you could imagine true dragons and false dragons. But as such, no :).

Now if you actually wanted to know whether they exist or not, Stanislaw Lem in "The Cyberiad" says that there are three kinds of dragons: null, imaginary and negative. All three are inexistent, but each has a different way of not existing :).

Too many different cultures have been found to have the so called 'dragons' in their mythology. Almost all of them are said to have had the same traits. Too much of a coincidence I believe. It was probably the remnants of a flying dinosaur that has, as far as we know, died off.

Yes, but probably not in the fairy-tale way of thinking. There is this possibility that the origin of dragons may be traced to dinosaurs; as much as the Leviathan may be traced to sightings of giant squids in ancient days.

most people say no. most people may be right. frankly i think dragons are real. they are creatures of magick, splendor, and might. the dragon is not mythological, but illogical. but logical or not, they do exist.

How many people keep doubting my existence? I am starting to feel like the caveman in the Geico commercials.

Yes. They almost never cheat.

Oh, did you mean if they exist? Oh, of course not. They are mythical animals - what could possibly make a person think that?
