why does it seem like everybody hates lesbians? I haven't done anything to anyone, I try to help people and be as nice as I can, but i still get called names and insulted. One dude said that he didn't want me around his sister. It really hurts.

everybody doesn't hate lesbians. I don't. it's too bad you have to put up with that intolerant behavior. some people fear what they don't understand and it shows as hate. just be the best person you can and know you're worthy of respect.

Look at the people around you. Many many people are just bitter and angry in general, and by admitting you are "different" you give them a socially acceptable outlet by which to vent their frustrations. That's all it is. It's their own ignorance, don't let it hurt you.
However, male society actually loves lesbianism to death (although the male fantasy lesbianism is misconstrued and offensive to be sure). Women are more compassionate and understanding of eachother in general than men and men think lesbianism is "hot". Straight girls probably feel sexual tension around you knowing that you are into girls and out of confusion may stay distant from you or hurl insults, gay men get this too, but overall it's always seemed to me like lesbianism is generally cast in a positive light in popular view.

First of all, I don't think everyone hates lesbians. However, there IS a lot of hate in this world which is due largely to ignorance. A lot of people still think that if you are gay or lesbian that u are automatically attracted to everyone of your same sex. All you can do is be true to yourself and don't allow anyone to change who you are. If you are a nice person who enjoys helping others- please stay that way and move away from the negative comments.

I don't think everybody hates lesbians. I know quite a few lesbians and fellow gay people who have no problems getting along with people in general.
It is you they hate for whatever reason. If I were you I would sit back and try to understand what it is that drives others away from you. Don't play the victim card. Its rather unattractive.
Good luck!

well actually I feel that everyone should treat others as they wanted to be treated. I don't face anyone different but if a Lesbian was trying to talking and get with me I would tell them what's right...about your situation on how that dude hurted you, I think that you should talk to him and tell him that it wasn't right to tell you that tell how you feel about trying to help and not make fun of people and tell him what if he turned out to be gay which is always possible he wouldn't like to be treated different and just because he's against it..it really don't make sense to hurt someone feelings because they might be happy that way because there better off in great life speculations....but either way it goes they will have to regret because it's a sin.

Not everyone hates lesbians. I don't for example and many people I know don't. It just seems like it because people think they have the right to insult. They confuse freedom of speech with "hate" words. Anyway..you would be surprised how many people like you. You can tell by the way their eyes are when they speak to you. So, foregt about the gross haters and be positive...positive energy attracts positive people.

It's because people are torn in todays society. The bible belts say that lesbianism is wrong. Others don't give a ****. Personally, i think it's wrong. but that's not for me to really say. what you feel for the same sex is your choice. especially if you're a grown woman. i'd be more careful though in the future to who you come out of the closet to and admit you're lesbian.

Some people are idots, but don't be a victim. Be strong, be proud, be self reliant. If you let him or other people get to you, you will suffer for the rest of your life. If you show that you are a possitive person and that things that shouldn't affect you don't then people will want to be around your possitive energy. So in other words PHUCK those ignorant pieces of sh*t, and get on with your life, because you don't need them.

People don't hate lesbians. People just love to HATE. Lesbian is just a handy excuse.

In high school people are especially closed minded. They are afraid that if they don't rip on the same people their friends rip on, they will lose favor with their friends.

Simply put: F,UCK people's opinions about you. I'm a gay guy, and gay men are even more persecuted. But the best thing to do is be yourself and don't give a damn about what some people like him think. If you show that you're offended or sad by what he says (Or anyone else), you'll feed his ignorance and stupid sarcasm more, and he'll keep doing it. Just ignore and don't listen to anyone's sarcasm or idiocy, they don't use their 1500's brains except to tease people and put their noses in others' lives. Believe me, ignoring such people is the best solution.
