and you pulled over a couple sixteen or so year old ladies after leaving a pharmacy having written false prescriptions, and then driving drunk...what would you feel the punishment should be???
Please just answer the question and nothing more...heck you don´t even have to consider yourself republican to answer this one...(I already know that, and that is neither here nor there) just, what would you feel the punishment should be???

And yes, that is the funny thing that I started the question with conservatives. It is also funny how we all know that the question is TOTALLY loaded. But I also know that I now have all the answers I need. Don´t worry, I´ll close the can in a few hours, so the worms to get all crackly. Over and out.

And by the way I NEVER asked if an officer has the right to choose the punishment. I asked what you personally would do. So that right there, takes about 6 of my answers and makes them not valid. Please, please, think before you type. I know I do (even if it is just for a split second).

Ok, having written this when there was still only fourteen answers, I am going to get mathematical. 2 our of 14 answered my question in the way I made it clear I wanted it to be answered. Let´s just say 1 in 7 proves themselves not to be so shallow to me. 1 in 7. Thank you guys, that just gave ME and idea to help with my other ideas. Maybe some more than 20 people got 2 points putting a meaningless answer on here. But I got everything I needed from this here question here. Over and out, (yet again...)

Please pardon the 3 or 4 spelling and grammatical mistakes I made. I was typing way too fast. Good bye now.

Why ask conservatives this question?
Number one if I was a police officer my job is to uphold the law & renforce it not sentence the offenders - therefore the young girls would be taken in custody & handed over to the proper authorites. Reason for your question?

On a personal level - I would find out if this is their first offense, I would inform the parents of the situation - a lot of times, out of experience, a good scare goes a long way.

If I was a police officer, I would have no say in the punishment. The job of a police officer is to cite or arrest people for violating the law, NOT determining the appropriate punishment. I would arrest them and take them to the station to call in their parents.

The state sets the laws and the judge administers the punishment. The cops are only an extension of the law. They do not render the verdict, they only catch and bring the subject to justice.

It doesn't matter whether or not the officer is conservative or liberal, a good officer will follow the laws of the state and bring whatever punishment the laws say to give.

A police officer doesn't concern himself with the punishment. His job is to apprehend the offenders and turn them over to the criminal justice system. Once the arrest has been made, the officer is done.

C'mon...You have to try and save their lives. Take them to jail! Then hopefully they can get help at a drug awareness/treatment center.

Forgery is another matter!

I think a boot camp program may help. Where were their parents about 13 years ago when they were supposed to be teaching the basics...right from wrong?

The law is for everyone, so the punishment SHOULD be according to the crime. I'm sure you have a "political" point here, but if it is "special treatment' then you should look at ALL politicians/celebrities before driving your point home. I don't think this is a left/right issue.

It wouldn't be my place to punish them, just do what the law requires of me, arrest them and let the judge deal with it. Now if I were their parent that would be whole different story!

It would obviously depend on the magnitude, but I would say that they would deserve a citation, fine, and maybe a small sentence of community service.

Why did you ask Conservatives this question?

Punishment is the job of the judge ,not the police.
