what happens to robitussin when you attempt to freeze a bottle will the active ingreidient rise to the top, will this be codien? I found a bottle in the freezer my son said he put there in an attempt to make syrup(lean).

No. Over the counter Robitussin does NOT contain codeine. And freezing it is not going to turn it in to codeine. I can't believe your son told you he was trying to make codeine syrup. IF this is true, you need to get him some professional help.

He may have been trying to get something else out of it. Was it Robitussin DM?

Let us assume that your question was not because your son is making drugs(meth or codiene) but rather because you do not know what is in Robitussin...if it is not on the bottle(codiene) it is not in there and if he is not 18 and did not sign for it he did not get anything that is required to make meth -- not would I assume he was trying that...my guess is that he wanted thicker cough medicine because he thought it would last longer and work better...but then I am not one to assume the most sinister thing possible on every occasion...silly me.

there is no codeine in any over the counter cold medicine. so i would not worry about it. i would be more concerned as to why your son is attempting this.
