Try this approach - ask her why she doesn't want you to wear a thong? Listen to her worries and fears adn try to answer them in a responsible way. Most adults think that wearing thongs is a sign that you are sexually active. Explain to her why this may or may not be the case with you. Maybe you want to wear them for the fashion of it (no more visible panty lines!) The most important thing is to open communication. Really listen to her without getting defensive, that's one of the best things you can do to show her you are mature and responsible.

Trust me in 10 years this isn't even going to matter. Let the thong thing go. If you just have to wear them go buy the thongs wear them once and throw them out of course you wouldn't throw them out in your own trash. She'll never even know that you wore them. Do you plan on taking your pants off that anyone is going to notice whether your wearing thongs on your birthday? Heck if you really want to stick it to your mom why don't you just go commando. Are you trying to pick a fight with your mom? This really is somthing not to argue about.

Believe me ....wearing them is no big deal......
Wait...if this the only battle you have with her....how lucky you are!
She must have her reasons, why not try talking to her about it and if she gives some good ones....try to understand them.
There are so many other issues that are so more important then this.....think about that and your future...
You are talking about a Thong....something that isn't even seen and is most likely going to be uncomfortable.
Just a thought

You can just tell her what you want to do, but I happen to agree with your mother. I think there are far more serious issues you could focus on instead of what kind of underwear you want. Girls today try to grow up too soon; you have the rest of your life to worry about wearing thong underwear.

I don't know girl, but I wish you the best of luck. Maybe try telling her that you know that she doesn't agree with it, but she also made decisions that her parents didn't agree with, and at least you are wise enough to discuss it with her. I had the same problem with my mom when I was younger. If all else fails when you start making money on your own, than you can buy them yourself.

Why do you want to wear those nasty things? I think they're inappropriate for anybody. They look trashy and will probably give you the reputation of being a ho. Of course, that's probably what you're going for. That's just gross.
