Recently, all the lights in my house have started flickering. I did a time test yesterday, and it seems to happen about every 55 seconds. Any ideas why this is happening? Can I fix this easily?
We have recently had 2 power outages due to ice storms. Also, I recently installed an overhead light in my office.......Dont know if either has anything to do with it.

I had this problem also. I called the electric company and they checked the outside connections where their lines enter the house. They found that the connections had deteriorated over time (something about two different metals being the connections). When the wind would blow it would temporarily cause a loss of complete connectivity causing the lights to flicker. I'd call your local electric company and have them check it out. If this is the problem be sure to disconnect major electric items like TVs, stereos, computers etc. while they fix the line as the power surge that comes after they reconnect can damage these types of appliances.

If all the power in your house is flickering lights and plugs you have a bad connection in your panel of your main wires from meter or a bad connection at the pole our at the point of your service connections

egads... DONT call the power company! Lights flicker all the time...(Ive replaced thousands of light and ballasts) THat is normal when a buld is going bad or a ballast...and also when the socket is bad also..but less likely
