Boston is wonderful. If you don't like it I ask you nicely to " get the f^&k out of here" then. Most people are nice and have no problem with you. One thing everyone should now and understand about Bodton is " Harvard is in Cambridge, our big colleges are BU, BC, and Northheastern". Please refrain from talking about ("havud") because most Bostonians could care less, it's an old played out joke about our wonderful accents that needs to end. I love Boston every single town in it, for those in the know they will tell you a major part of Boston is Dorchester. The Downtown area and B.B. are in no way entirely representative of what this great city has to offer. I suggest anyone come visit.
Peace

Boston... I've never been there, though I have been in most major U.S. Cities. I should go! Anyway when I think of Boston, four things some to mind:
U.S. History (is it called the "Freedom Trail"?)
Harvard University
The Red Sox
Southie (brought to life by many in Hollywood including Damon and Affleck)
It's sort of like there are two Bostons in my head... the "tourist" Boston - which includes the first two items; and the "real" Boston made up of the second two items.
Overall, my impression of Boston IS positive... maybe because I'm a fan of "Crossing Jordan" on t.v. (hey, is that the "real" Boston? :-)

I LOVE Boston - it's my second favorite city, even including the cities I've been to abroad (Venice, Bonn, Koln, etc...). I've been enough to realize that while it's fun every once in a while, I avoid Faneuil Hall and stick to Copley. I enjoy shopping and a relaxed atmosphere, and Copley offers all of it. I like walking around the streets and knowing that great shopping and an amazing pizza or Thai meal is nearby.
I actually feel pretty safe on the T, much better than Chicago's el, and less drug-infested than NYC's subway. Hands down it beats Miami's metro.

I'm Canadian, and I've been there a few times.
Small city (people think it is big, but it's really not), lots of history and character, people are kind. Duck boats!!! weeeee! Very easy to explore on foot.
The only things I didnt like was the accent (some people(cabbies) were just not understandable!! and the obsession with the flag - everywhere! It gets a little annoying after the first 100 flags.

I love Boston! Being a southerner I was worried about their accents (haha) but they were all so kind. The city itself is beautiful being right off the water and full of life! I went to a BoSox game and I have never experienced anything like it! The food, the people, the weather (of course I went in May) made it a wonderful trip.

I live about a 40-minutes drive south of Boston in Mass. I think Boston is one of the best, most cultural, and very historic cities within the country. Also, it is very fun, especially the nightlife, sports, and many of the city's spectacular events. I am definitely fond of this city.

I love Boston, it's my favorite city (and I've travelled a fair amount of the Western world).
Rich in history - you can visit Faneuil Hall where the Boston Tea Party originated, the North Church where Paul Revere famous midnight ride where the lanterns were to be hung - "one if by land, and two if by sea."
The shopping is out of this world, restaurants fabulous and the atmosphere of this *Ivy League* city is unbeatable.

I'm from California and have been to Boston twice. I'm sure it has its problems like any major metropolis. But I love it for all the history, most of it along the Freedom Trail. Quincy Market. Fenway Park & the Red Sox - this may sound strange from a native Californian, but I've been a Red Sox fan since I was a kid. (I root for the Giants in the National League). Harvard over in Cambridge. I loved just walking along Commonwealth Avenue.
