The best way to strip steel wire armoured cable and fit glands is to judge the length you want to use,cut round with a sharp knife, strip off outside sheath, then with a junior hacksaw gently score round the steel using your first cut to follow round, then take a few strand at a time and wriggle back and forth until These break off,do this to all. Then cut back enough sheath to allow the gland to slide on.Before going any further undo gland and slip the back part over the steel wire, then hold the inner wire and turn it in a clock wise motion thus making the steel wire to open up enough to slip the inner gland on to the cable so the steel goes over the end, then bring together the first bit and screw down tight, then strip the inner sheath off very carefully so as not to take the insulation off of the conductors. If you have a gland cover shroud, put this on first

bty has the answer, I can only add,- use the correct gland size and type, BW indoor and CW outdoor. and don't forget to fit the shroud before you fit the gland! Should only take about 5 minutes per end.
