The "Guitarists Handbook" has EVERYTHING in it!! From building your own preamp..to scales and modes!! The easiest way i found was to learn your scales. This will teach you runs all over the neck and in different patterns.(pentatonic is a great and "easy" scale to start with).Guitar World magazine always has great articles with guest artists giving you "tips"..Guitar World also has DVD's out too...seriously do yourself a favor and get the Guitarists Handbook it has EVERYTHING!!

I have seen a DVD that Dimebag Darrell made and it's probably the best one out there. You can find it on the internet or in a Sam Ash store.
