I don't see how any American can be happy that a powerful terrorist group claims responsibility for an assasination attempt on a vice president. Personally I would feel the same if the attempt was on Cheney or Pelosi. I am an American first.

I agree. I have seen about 1000 posts of conservatives claiming that liberals are happy about him almost being killed, but have yet to see any liberal that says they are happy about it. If anyone has, then they either have a sick sense of humor or are in need of medication.

Listen, in the final analysis, we're all Americans. We don't want to hear that that crook, cheat and liar was killed and turned into a martyr... we'd rather have him exposed as the crook that he is but not killed! Besides, he's OUR Vice President to abuse, not some other country's idiot to abuse!

Maybe we should stop oohing and aahing over Cheney and think about the 20+ individuals who died because they were near him when the blast was triggered. Of course when you see him smiling and joking afterwards, it does make one wonder if the wrong people died.
