Breastfed!! I'm 6 weeks postpartum today, I had my doc appt yesterday and I'm back to the wieight of my first appointment! I gained about 35 lbs during my pregnancy.

Good Luck! Don't get on yourself too much! It took 9 months to gain it all, it can take about a year to lose it!

I had a baby two weeks ago, my second child. I gained 25 pounds with this pregnancy and it was lost in about a week.
I am also breastfeeding which has helped me lose an extra 5 so far. I also have not one, but two kids now, so I never have time to snack or even eat dinner sometimes.
Since chocolate and caffeinated drinks sometimes cause fussiness in breastfed babies, I don't eat that. I drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies. I walk every day with my son while my daughter is in preschool, and I will start running once my doctor says it's okay. I do crunches.
It's not so much the weight you gain, it's the toning back up of your body after the birth, especially the stomach.

Well.....I had a c-section, and had a horrible infection, so I was on 3 very strong antibiotics that made me so sick, I couldn't eat! I had no appetite for 3-4 wks after the baby. And I lost more weight in that 3 weeks than I gained the whole preg.! ( gained 24lbs.with the pg, and lost 30lbs. w/in 3wks. after). So, that was my big secret, however; the weight gradually found its way back to me in the coming months after that. I have gained back 16 of those pounds since last summer. I am a stay-at-home mom, so I don't get out much. I would love to exercise, but my tummy doesn't feel like it will ever be the same after being sliced open! It still hurts when I try to exercise. So I pretty much give up hope on my dreambody......I don't think it's gonna happen.
Shouldn't be too hard for normal folks though. I've always been one to struggle with weight my whole life, and ppl. like me have a harder time after childbirth.

I'm breastfeeding so I can't diet yet. I do try to eat healthy foods. Lots of fruits and veggies, fish. Low fat varieties of dairy and peanut butter, no fast food. But I don't limit the portions because of breastfeeding I need a lot of calories. Breastfeeding also helps lose weight because of all the work your body is doing to make the milk. I walk a lot. If it's cold outside you can walk at the mall. I'll exercise at home too. I put my baby where he can watch me and then I put on fun music and dance around in silly dances and do aerobic exercises. My baby loves to watch me and he always laughs and smiles at me doing this. And so far I've lost a little over 20 pounds and it's been 4 months.

I gained a lot with my son (60+). I breastfed, which burned calories automatically. Since I gained so much, I had to watch what I ate initially to get some of the weight off in order for me to exercise. Thereafter, I started Tae Bo and the weight just fell off. I used Tae Bo with my subsequent pregnancies as well and again the weight just fell off. Actually, any aerobic activity will help with weight loss.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
