I had the door of my car replaced with a door from a junkyard and I want the annoying paint numbers off. I was able to scrape the numbers off the windows, but don't know how to get them off the door without scraping the actual paint of the door.

Just make a huge scratch in the paint, then lie to your insurance company and they'll pay to repaint the door to match the rest of your car. In fact, scratch ALL the body panels, and get a whole new paint job!

A mild abrasive cleaner, the sort you use in the kitchen is much cheaper and just as effective as cleaners made specially for cars. If abrasive cleaners don't work try a very fine wire wool but use it gently.

Try a can of Bug and Tar remover as that, generally, leaves the Original Paint mostly intact. (Non discolored-faded)

i own a shop, and id try some mild rubbing compound on it,that usually gets it off ,you might be ale to soften it up a little and scrape it off real easy once it gets soft, sometimes that junk yard paint is hard to get off, good luck.
