It can only play DVDs but i need it to be able to read cd-roms. What can i do?

Buy and install a standard cd-rom drive (your DVD drive should be able to read noraml cd-roms though.....) - the cd-rom drives are cheap

Yep, any DVD drive must be able to read cd rom. CD rom reading does use different read/write head if i'm not mistaken, so its possible to have it completely unable to read cd while dvd works perfectly fine. But of course this still means your drive have problems. If it's new or still under warranty, you shoud try sending it for RMA.

Else u can get a normal cdrom which are very cheap now.
