The Statue of Liberty is approximately 120 years old. It is made from copper sheeting over an iron framework. Copper, while colorful, does not wear well when exposed to salt sea air as it is in New York Harbor. At the time it was built materials which would be impervious to the weather and not extremely heavy were not available.

Maybe it heard about the Patriot Acts 1 & 2 and realizes it is being used for us to give up our freedoms and liberties for security. Thinking everyone has forgotten what our founding fathers fought and died for. Maybe we should actually do the research of what's going on here and all these senseless acts of supposed "security" and stand up against the TYRANNY.
