Antidiscrimination laws, and more of them than necessary, are on the books. Enforce them.

Isn't it hypocritical to expect employers to hire strictly based on job qualifications, then force him to consider non-job related criteria in their selection?

Affirmative action is the only example of institutional racism in the US today. This policy that allows certain people to dispense privilege to those of a select class is Marxist in nature. Ask yourself this question if affirmative action was all about minority participation in certain sectors than why is it applied to white women and used to limit the number of Jews and Asians in certain elite universities. Poor blacks receive little benefits from these policies as they are not designed to make up for functional family situations or past criminal records, These policies do however insure tokens such as Angela Davis and Cornell West a cushy life at taxpayer expense

This is a very difficult issue to address. We know that discrimination occurs. However, I feel that affirmative action is not a fair practice. We could go on and on debating whether it is necessary. I'll try to keep it short. My feeling is that affirmative action itself is discriminatory in that it is based on giving preferential treatment to people based on the color of their skin. Also by enforcing it, it assumes that all employers discriminate when hiring. The person most qualified for the position should get the job whether they are black, white, green, or purple.

Absolutely. It is still absolute fact that African-Americans, Hispanics, and women make less money for doing the same jobs as white males. Since the system (the corporate-capital-military system) continues to discriminate, it is the moral responsibility of government to help address the problems. Furthermore, African-Americans in particular routinely are forced (by both open and indirect racism) to live in areas with less access to quality education, health care, etc. It is absolutely not true that everyone has an equal chance in this country. If most of your elementary school teachers are paid less than those at rich schools, your school has old or no textbooks, and no regular access to modern technology like the internet, how can you possibly be expected, once you are an adult, to compete fairly with someone who had a nutritionist and a computer in their room since they were 2?

I don't believe it is necessary any longer.

The main reason is that the maintenance of seperate standards or special standards for some people based on their skin color is what is PREVENTING the healing of racial divisions. We can only go so far, which we have, before we hit this wall. Until all people are held equal by government and other institutions, the division will remain.

sure. because of the fact racism nonetheless exist yet maximum anybody is in denial. human beings arise with motives to rationalize why they did not hire the Black guy, vote for the female, or hire to the Latino kinfolk. human beings say issues like, "Oh it wasn't reason she's lady that i did not vote for her, I do exactly unlike her coverage on the militia funds." "i did not hire him because of the fact this different white newborn replace into extra qualified to show burgers." "They have been the two the two qualified yet i don't think of the Asian female is as properly matched with something of the staff as this white applicant." "Our purchasers would not prefer to hire a male Secretary because of the fact it is not classic." i'd particularly be the "token" male than be unemployed. additionally you will not get an unqualified individual in a job because of the fact of tokenization. If a Black guy have been to get priority over a White lady applicant, who replace into extra matured than him, to show at an elemenary college, because of the fact they prefer to hire a male, I say hell yeah. the only reason she has extra journey is by technique of the fact a super sort of the time adult males are not employed to be instructors in straight forward college. He needs to get his foot interior the door, he's qualified and teenagers could see that adult males would be instructors and Black adult males are not frightening.
