Do we still need affirmative action today in order to deal with race issues? Why?

No. Legally speaking, people have become equal and continued affirmative action now only succeeds in creating reverse discrimination -- discrimination in favor of minorities. The only obstacle that remains is people's own personal views and mindsets, and you cannot correct that through legislation. In time, racial issues will not matter anymore; but as long as affirmative action and groups like the NAACP exist, the problem with personal view and mindsets will never go away. It can only be permitted to fade into irrelevance.

Affirmative action is the only occasion of institutional racism interior the U. S. at present. This coverage that enables particular human beings to dispense privilege to those of a opt for type is Marxist in nature. ask your self this question if affirmative action replace into all approximately minority participation specifically sectors than why is it utilized to white females and used to cut back the kind of Jews and Asians specifically elite universities. damaging blacks acquire little advantages from those rules as they don't look to be designed to make up for clever kinfolk situations or previous criminal records, those rules do whether insure tokens including Angela Davis and Cornell West a comfortable existence at taxpayer rate

Yes. Because racism still exist but most people are in denial. People come up with reasons to rationalize why they didn't hire the Black man, vote for the female, or rent to the Latino family. People say things like, "Oh it wasn't cause she's female that i didn't vote for her, I just don't like her policy on the military budget." "I didn't hire him because this other white kid was more qualified to flip burgers." "They were both equally qualified but I don't think the Asian woman is as compatible with the rest of the staff as this white applicant." "Our clients doesn't want to hire a male Secretary because it's not traditional."
I would rather be the "token" male than be unemployed. Also you won't get an unqualified person in a job because of tokenization.
If a Black man were to get priority over a White female applicant, who was more experienced than him, to teach at an elemenary school, because they want to hire a male, I say hell yeah. The only reason she has more experience is because most of the time males aren't hired to be teachers in elementary school. He needs to get his foot in the door, he's qualified and kids need to see that men can be teachers and Black men aren't scary.

No. And for you who said that Jews and Whites are racist....are you not being racist saying that? If you are black...Jews have been through more than your people ever could have imagined. They were treated as animals and lab rats, then mass-murdered. They did not recieve affirmative action to become wealthy, successful, and stand on their own two feet! Stop making excuses!!!!!!

I feel that affirmative action is a racist program to begin with. What is the govt saying? "I'm sorry you cant get a job without us making employers hire you."? Thats seems a little degrading to me. I'm happy to get hired based on my merit and not on my race, sex, or religion.

Racial problems occur because of sheer ignorance. The people who are racist are ignorant and they do not have any knowledge or interest toward learning. Most of them don't go on to be successful in their lives.

But some are successful even though they are racist. But exceptions are not examples.

Any amount of law won't stop Racial problems. There are stricter law for illict drugs but still millions of people gets it.

Affirmative Action is the epitome of prejudice! You should only get into a school or get a job if you are the most qualified; period!

Affirmative action has always been and will continue to be counter-productive.

Certainly. As long as there are huge differences between blacks and whites in income and wealth.

Affirmative action does little for the black lower class (more radical solutions will be needed for that). But without AA, there would not a sizable black middle class. Already, in states (California) where AA has been abolished in university admissions, black representation in schools has gone down.

No, it creates more hostile race issues than it eliminates.
