i want a file in cd. how do i do that. i have it in my computer.plz help me!

i have xp.i started nero and started the process and also completed. but there r no files in the cd.

In Windows, go to My Computer and right-click on your CD drive, and select Explore.

Or, if you meant to say "I want a file *on* CD", you can insert a blank CD into your burner on Windows XP or Vista and it will allow you to drag files onto the CD, then use the links on the left-hand side of the window to burn and finalize it.

Do you have Roxio? Likely, or *some* CD-burning software came with your computer. Try this. Open two windows, each one with My Computer. On one of them, get down to the list of files you want to move. On the other, get down to the drive representing your CD (likely "D"). Highlight your files, on the first window, and right-click and hold the right-clicked files and move the set to the other window and drag them over and release the mouse button, and when the little window pops up offering the choice, Move Here, or Copy Here, choose Copy Here. See if that doesn't do the trick. Then eject the CD and there you have it!

You've to burn it into the CD using a hardware called CD burner (Technically CD writer).Also you need to have a some sort of burning software like Nero.Check your CD drive,if it's written CD-RW or DVD-RW in the face plate then you've the hardware.All you need then is the software,there are many free burning softwares in the internet,you can download them.Once you've all these insert the empty disc into the burner and load the files you want to have it in your CD in the software and click burn.Thats it.For the free software check the link.

there are certain programs that the computers come with that can help you walk through it easily, Im not sure what kind of computer you have so I cant really help you but you can get help and support on you computer or on the website of the brand...
