What are the best 5 independent films you have seen?

When i say "independent" i mean movies not made by hollywood.

I have just started getting into Indie films the last two or three years. So most my fav movies are from 2000 or later as these were the most recent and were easiest for me to research or find. It seems most the movies I liked have either one of McAuley Caulkin's brothers, Ryan Gosling, or Jenna Malone in them.

In no particular order:

Brick
Mean Creek (Rory Caulkin) - (Scott Mechlowicz role as Marty is superb!)
The Believer (Ryan Gosling is unbelievably great!)
The United States of Leland (Ryan Gosling & Jena Malone)
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (Kieran Culkin & Jena Malone)
