I can't help you with rappers, but a GREAT Christian rock band to get into is PFR. I have always said that PFR is what the Beatles would have sounded like if they did Christian tunes!
They mix flat out great rock/pop tunes with awesome Beatle-esque harmonies. And they're a 3-pc band! The drummer, Mark Nash, is married to Leigh Nash who is the lead singer of Sixpence None the Richer.
Sadly, they're DEFUNCT! They broke up like a couple years ago, but you can still get their CD's all over the internet. I recommend starting with their 3rd CD "Great Lengths", but if you can find their best of collection called "The Late Great PFR" get that as well!

Check out Tooth and Nail records, I'm pretty sure most of the bands are christian, however I don't think that is always displayed in the lyrics. I'm not christian and they have some stuff I like.
There is also Sufjan Stevens, he gets old fast but you might like him, once again he isn't exactly "Christian Music" but there are times his spirituality comes out in his lyrics, but its not just songs about jesus or whatever. There is also Danielson Family but they are kind of weird... in a good way
