Well, the MCAT is harder to pre med students than the SAT for high school students, but I think that pre med students with a science major will do just fine, in the view of the fact that science majors have a better understanding of the life science than any other student majoring in a different discipline. Also, I think that it would not be so hard, I mean taking into consideration that you have to take all the required classes before taking the MCAT, you now like Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and English, so I don't think that you will be facing new things when taking the test. All you need to do is to study hard and give yourself plenty of time to do so. Ohh, that's right the test its long, but like I said you just need to practice and if you have a chance take a practice exam, so that you can have an idea of how much time you have, especially for the writting part.

Well, its not only harder, its different too. I wouldn't feel right comparing it to the SAT at all. THe MCAT is broken down into categories that are not on the SAT and the SAT, likewise. It is though, multiple choice, until the essays

Well, I hope that the MCAT would be a lot harder than the SAT. I don't want to have a doctor who has to pass a test easier than the SAT working on me.

It is VERY difficult. The SAT only tests basic reading, writing and math skills.
The MCAT is testing on science. It tests physics, chemistry, organic chemistry and various biology. You have to be able to understand chemical structures, comparative anatomy, genetics, etc.
Oh, and the test is about 6-8 hrs long.

Probably harder, considering it is harder to get into med school than to get into college.
