I am a 46 year old man with a wife and three small kids. Is it dangerous to post on my blog photos of myself and my family and my home address? I don't see what anyone could really do with that.

You will be surprised at how many predators are out there. Address info are things they like to know. They can possibly wait until you leave your home and just the kids are there to strike or when your wife and kids are the only one's there. It's not a good idea to have that info out there on the internet and what do you have to lose by taking it off. Do you want people to know where you live?

You're likely right. What information is available via the web site that's not available elsewhere?
Think about this. Would you be willing to hang a picture of your family and three small kids (along with your address) outside a liquor store? A prison? Where drug dealers hang out?
Would it make you nervous if a child molester walked past the picture of your kids (with your address) every day?
If so, then you've shown that there is something that bothers you about strangers knowing your address and what your family looks like. It may be a rational fear. Or not.
In the end, you're right. Your address is in the phone book. But does seeing a picture of your kids along with the address provide information that's not available to ANYONE?
Suppose someone got on the Internet and saw your site. Then, that person went by your kid's school. "You Dad, [your name, which is posted on the site] sent me to get you and take you home to [your address]."
You may teach your kids well, but small kids might be fooled by someone that knows Dad's name, home address, and can give information about what the siblings look like.
The question is: do you want to take that risk?

by all means post pictures of your self and family but don't put you home address on the site there are some weird people out there keep it private but you could put a general address such as what county/state you're in but leave it vague if you want people to contact you use an email address

Look at the news and read the papers,there are people out there thinking of all kinds of things they can do, be safe ,don't share the most important things to you
