Heheh, good point! Well, just so you know, this is one cowboy who happens to have a healthy love for France, and always has. Let me be the first to apologize for winning the revolutionary war with French support and all that, and not recognizing it... But hey, I figure most American's are just jealous of the fact that France is an older country, and so has some really nice places to visit and all.. Not like the great state of Alaska ain't a bad place to go, and all.

Don't know if you're French or anything, but regardless of nationality, trust me. There are less stupid people here than ya might think. The stupid ones just talk more often. But that's just my two cents...

I've been to France, have family in France, and conversed with many a Frenchman in local drinking establishments in France. I have no problem with the French.

People in America hate France for a couple of reasons. First, they are ignorant and know no French people so their judgment of the situation does not matter. Secondly they are upset the French rarely stand behind us in times of need except of course the Revolutionary War over 220 years ago, but they did that mostly for them not us. Meanwhile we have helped to save and restore their country twice in the last hundred years and I'd say some Americans feel as if the French have let us down and don't remember the help we gave them.

As far as Lady Liberty is concerned, I think it would be ridiculous to give her back. She is a symbol of this country and a symbol of our willingness to help anyone anywhere. And that was one of the nice things France did for us, so we should hold onto it as a keepsake. Thanks and have a nice day.

The French King helped during the American Revolution. US repaid the French in WWI. Japan and Germany dragged the US into WWII, and we freed the Pacific Islands from the Japanese while at the same time rescued the British, then later the French from the Nazis. Besides, the Statue of Liberty is part of the US, NOT France.

Why not reverse the question and ask how many French cannot stand Americans? The French find Americans to be ignorant, fat, uneducated, arrogant, war-mongering. But above all they are puzzled at the fact that Americans continue to elect time after time, governments that do not do what essentially a government is supposed to do, which is to take good care of its people. That's a big question mark on the French's mind.

Great question!

What those who hate the French forget is that there are millions of Americans with French ancestry, so everytime they verbally assault the French, they are also verbally assaulting Americans.

Thank you.

If it would mean that no one from France could come to the US, then we should gladly give it back.
