3. Oxford street
4. Covent gardens great for entertainment and shopping

Wear comfy clothes. I went a few years ago and wore jeans and sweaters. I went in March so it was cool (think early spring). I also invested in a black London Fog jacket. That was nice. I didn't have to worry about dragging an umbrella around. I just flipped up my hood when it started to sprinkle. You will want a nice outfit if you are going to see a show. I wore slacks and a sweater.
Sites to see..... depends on what you like. The places I loved the most were:
London Tower. I went on a tour with a BeefEater and it was great. I learned so much and had a blast.
I also took a day trip and saw Leeds Castle, White Cliffs of Dover, and Canterbury. That was a nice trip. Leeds is BEAUTIFUL! The lakes and black swans (flown in from Australia)... I could go on and on. Canterbury was interesting. Walked the streets that the story talks about... saw the church. It was fun.
Of course I did things just to say I did them: Diana's house, the art museums, churches, Harrod's....etc. But the day trip and London Tower were the best for me.
Good luck and hope you have a blast!

this time of year the weather is cold and rainy. usually around 45-50 degrees fahrenheit. so dress as you would for early spring weather.
as far as what to see, there's a TON of places. figure out what interests you most (historical, entertainment, etc.) and search online for those things in london. i saw a bunch of places... my fave was walking around the parks and palaces and madame toussaud's wax museum.
if you have the time you should take the eurorail over to paris for a day or two. paris is amazing! london's cool, too, but it only takes about 2 hrs. on the train and well worth the trip.
have fun!
