Does anyone know how I can do this for the cheapest price. Every attorney that I spoke with wants $2,000 to do this...is there any other options???

First of all a bankruptcy itself should not cost more then $150 - $300 to actually do. Try going online and finding a lawyer who wont rip you off. Another option is credit repair, that is what I did. Try calling a company called platinum financial services they helped me before i went to bankrupcy and i never had to file. There # is 732-920-5575. If you dont want to do that go to the ftc website and they will give you all the info on bakruptcy you need.

Wow thats a lot of money...the filing fees witht he court are only $299.00 no matter what state you are in. I would honestly call around to attorneys in the phone book. Our highest Chapter 7 fees are $1,144.00 and thats if you are filing husband & wife with real estate.
I would say you can do it yourself but you need to file electronically with the court and you need a certificate of counseling before you can even file or it will be dismissed. You will also need 6 months of paystubs to file with the court and your tax returns.
