Hi! I'm writing a book and I want to you to give me an advice. Propose a name for the main character. He's a teenager, he likes reading, especialy history and lives with his uncle- Frank. He also is going to meet a girl named Emma, so ............ and Emma must sound well. I tried some sites like behindthename.com but there are too many names and I can't find what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

well take in to consideration the type of story your writing. For example if it's young adult fantasy then give him a name from mythology. And you know, no one except you has to know what it means because eventually you'll instinctively tie in little hints about his name anyway. Or you could be bold and give him an incredibly random name that has nothing to do with what your writing, and most likely it would fit him perfectly because you'll make it fit the longer you spend time with the character.

If your character likes history, I would suggest giving him a name tied to a historical figure you like or one that the character might like. You can give him a name like Andrew Jackson Brown. It ties the reader to a real person and gives your character some flair even if you rarely use the middle name and call him Andy through the entire book. Then you can research the real person and tie into the story why the character's parents gave him that name.

As others have said it would be nice to name him after a writer or character or historical figure at least it gives a bit of a story to the name.
What's your favourite book, (or potentially his) and take a name from it be it author or character.

Try the name Luke. It's simple, but not too common these days. It's a solid name with a nice meaning. It means "light." It might be a good name for an enlightened person such as the one you described.
