I havent got time to sell anything he's coming tonight to collect anything valuable. I cant ask family cos they dont have any money either. Total amount owed is £1000.71. I have offered to pay half then pay the rest when a loan comes through at some point next week but the dates are not confirmed yet and he wont accept it.

I've Taken the stuff we cant bear to be parted from...collectors items ect and left stuff thats easy to be brought back (t.v + DVD player) so that it doesnt look like we have hidden it all.

Cos we kept phoning him every five mins and telling him we cant pay it but the loan will be clearing next week he has given us till next friday before he takes our things

This is a common scare tactic to weed potential fraudsters from those who do not have the means to pay in full. They cannot legally enter your home UNLESS YOU INVITE THEM IN; any other means used is unlawful. THEY MAY TRY TO TRICK YOU INTO INVITING THEM IN; whatever they say or do - even if they say they are ill (this happened to a neighbour) DO NOT ALLOW THEM IN.
If you cannot afford to pay this amount immediately, bailiffs will accept an offer of payment in installments - unless you have already defaulted on payment terms. If you have a number to call, do so and make your offer. Don't allow the bailiff to set the amount - they will choose an amount that suits them, not you: choose an amount you can comfortably afford to pay and put it in writing.
Give the bailiff one copy (only if physically present), send another to the bailiff's company, a third to the court judgement was issued at (not really neccessary, but it establishes that an offer of payment was made, should things turn nasty) and keep a copy for yourself - dated and witnessed by a third party (not a friend or family member).
Above all, you must meet the payments you have agreed upon.

I agree with caroline on this one....
Try and stop the bailiffs coming in the first place.
Best act quick, cos if they do manage to take your stuff you only get a fraction of it's worth. It's all auctioned off and there could be hidden charges to pay (auction costs / transport / storage)
Plus you'll have it on your credit history for ages too.
it's a nightmare.

when the bailiffs arrive, don't let them in. They are NOT allowed to break in. Telephone the Police and advise them of the situation and they will be on hand if things turn ugly.
You need to go to the Citizens Advice Bureau. They will help you with everything. You need to ring them and make an appointment, do it NOW do it TODAY. Help is at hand. Don't be frightened everything is going to be OK. Just go to the CAB hunny.

Get off here and start doing something about it... Have you got stuff you can sell to raise the money? Could you get a loan or borrow from friends? How about ringing who ever you owe the money to and trying to make an agreement to pay off a little money at a time of what you owe? You need to be proactive on this.

Can you not contact the baliff company and organise a repayment scheme most of them will be happy to help, also they can not obtain accsess to your property unless the have a warrant from the county court, but its easier to just phone them and organise a repayment plan.

Try and sell as many things as you can in your house take things to Cash Converters and they will do it there and then.
Pawn jewellery in. Not a nice thought but sure you can buy it back when you get sorted?
Try not to worry - hopefully in a weeks time this will all be over with xx

First of all dont let him in the house! The baliffs have no right to enter your property unless you let them in, make sure no windows etc are open either, cos they are allowed to climb in

Sell any possessions that you do not require urgently. Get a loan from a family member(s).
Remember bailiffs cannot take any possessions that you need to earn your living.

If i where in your shoes id get all my things out of the house and put them at a mates place! (they cannot take what they cannot see!)
