Memory (RAM) looks like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d3/RAM_n.jpg/382px-RAM_n.jpg
And it goes inside your computer.
I agree that you need at least 512 MB, but in order to get more memory you need to know EXACTLY what kind. This can get tricky if you're not sure. As you can see in the picture above there are many different kinds of RAM. If you give me the specs of your PC (i.e. Make, Model #, etc.) I might be able to find out what kind of RAM you already have in there and what kind your motherboard will except.

no you can not. flash memory connects externally and therefor is way slower than RAM. flash transfers information in the Mb/s range while system RAM transfers information in the Gb/s range. not only that but they are both different storage medium's. flash memory stores information even while power is not supplied while RAM does not. so you see, there is no possible way flash memory can be used as RAM.

Only if you have Windows Vista...
Vista has technology that enables a flash drive to be used as ram.
All other Windows' only allow "file paging"
File paging is NOT ram!! It's just space on a disk that can be used as ram. It's ssoooooo slow...
Either buy Vista or buy more internal RAM.
GOOD LUCK!
I HOPE THIS HELPED!

no, not really. Flash drives start to deteriorate over time. You can only write to it so many times before it starts to fail, so using it as ram would destroy it in a couple days.

Nope, the only way is to upgrade your actual RAM.
Fortunately, RAM upgrading is one of the easiest computer upgrades you can do. For a guide on how, see: http://www.caffeinenebula.com/storage/RamStick.pdf
