The more expensive brands are more expensive because they market their names EVERYWHERE. They have to pay for those costs, so they make women believe they are better.
I used a dollar store test and receive a positive; I didn't believe it, so I bought the expensive one and guess what? It was positive also. They all detect the pregnancy hormone, so as long as you test past when your normal cycle is set to start, you can use any of them.

Also, the cheap ones are just very basic - no frills - just a tiny stick whereas the dearer ones are covered in a plastic outer shell which obviously costs slightly more to make. I bought 10 for £8 on the internet which can detect really low levels of 15 something or other (!) or was it 10?? They say it can pick up 7 days before period due! but I've not reached that stage yet so cant say how effective they are but they work in exactly the same way as the more marketed ones. Problem is, as they looked like the OPK sticks, I wasted 5 of them before I realised I was peeing on a Pregnancy detector stock rather than the LH sticks that detect when youre ovulating as the box in Spanish and I opened both boxes and got them mixed up!!! What a nerd....

100% Im saying first response beats every other make hands down i used every brand on the market cheap expensive and got negatives untill i used a first response which finally arrived weakly positive if i hadnt of done that test i wouldnt be here now as i was having an ectopic pregnancy so put your money into ONE good reliable preferably early test (more accurate) rather than spend it on hundereds of diffrent cheapo makes.

No ther all the same but you pay more for the better looking packaging and plastic. Though some are abit more sensitive I think theres 1 called early bird you can use before your period is due.

I don't believe there is any difference. You are just paying for a brand, like we do with so many things.

no. they are not more reliable, they all work the same. however, different tests pick up different HCG levels. so if you are barely pregnant, one test could come up positive and the other wouldn't just because they read at different levels.
